Lucky Find!

Sometimes I can't stand the LCBO, but other times I just love it. Somebody, crazy as it may sound, returned to the Summerhill branch a collection of properly cellared 1990 white Burgundies (Charton Trebuchet - one bottle of Chassagne Montrachet 1ere Cru, and five of Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru). The beautiful part about it??? They're selling them for the price they originally sold them at... back in 1993!

I couldn't quite afford the Chevaliers, but I jumped all over that Chassagne. Problem is, none of my friends are likely to care about it - I've trained them, but not that well yet.

Anybody in Toronto (or willing to travel) interested in tasting it with me? We'll split the cost, and share the enjoyment. I'll bring the wine, you bring $20 and some cheese, we'll call it even.

Or if not, I'll let you all know how it was... I've been tasting some beauties lately, and trying some more (85 and 86 Palmer) this Saturday.

Sometimes, I love my job.
